His role as an examiner for CIE and AQA further deepens his understanding of assessment standards and expectations, which he effectively communicates to his students. He is well known for his engaging and stimulating teaching style and for creating an enthusiastic and positive learning environment. I can personally vouch for his popularity among students as we used to work in the same school and there was always a queue at his door!
In addition to his teaching, Dan has made significant contributions to the educational community. He previously served on the committee of the Royal Geographical Society, where he played a key role in establishing and running sessions for postgraduates attending their annual conference. His dedication to sustainable futures and interdisciplinary studies has been recognized through awards such as the Grantham Centre of Sustainable Futures Scholarship and the Interdisciplinary Green Economy Network Scholarship at the University of Sheffield.
