His academic background is impressively diverse, holding degrees in Law, Mathematics, Human Rights, Criminology and Criminal Psychology, as well as an MSc in International Animal Welfare.

A lifelong learner and passionate educator, Gavin is known for his ability to inspire students across a range of subjects, combining deep subject knowledge with an engaging and supportive teaching style.

Beyond the classroom, Gavin is a dedicated advocate for animal welfare. He is the founder of The Pet Refuge Project, a charity committed to protecting animals in crisis situations, and he actively campaigns for animal rights through his work with the Animal Welfare Party, where he serves as Membership Manager and Designated Lead on Companion Animal Welfare Research.

Gavin also contributes to academic and public discourse on animal welfare as Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Canine Science, where he oversees leading research and editorial content in the field.
